Nyika-Vwaza (UK) Trust Trustees

Mike Budgen

Tom Lupton From an early age Mike has had a keen interest in the wildlife of Africa. He has visited a number of countries in southern and central Africa and first went to Malawi in 2003. The unique nature of the Nyika plateau was such a draw that when the opportunity arose to manage the fledgling Nyika-Vwaza Trust he grabbed it with both hands. He spent about seven months of 2004 developing Trust operations in both the Nyika National Park and the Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Reserve with the invaluable help of David Foot. At the same time he became the first trustee of the Nyika-Vwaza (UK) Trust. He also visited Chilinda (Nyika National Park) for a few months in 2005 and 2006 to guide trust operations. He then spent most of 2007 at Chelinda both looking after the interests of the trust and to help with safari activities of the Nyika Safari Company.

As a trustee of the Nyika-Vwaza (UK) Trust he has the responsibility of managing the IT elements of trust activities.
