Through your generous support, the Nyika-Vwaza Trust in Malawi works with the
Department of National Parks and Wildlife to improve the conservation of wildlife
in the Nyika National Park and the Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Reserve.
The Nyika-Vwaza (UK) Trust will provide the funding for year on year operational
costs and specific projects through the generosity of its supporters.

The projects in the Nyika National Park and Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Reserve for which the Nyika-Vwaza (UK) Trust is currently seeking funding are set out below. All funds received for these projects, with the exception of the last two listed, will be remitted directly to the Nyika-Vwaza Trust, which is registered under the laws of Malawi, and whose trustees account to the Nyika-Vwaza (UK) Trust for their use.
Road maintenance (£12,000 per annum for three to five years).
Bridges (£2,000 per annum for three to five years).
Protective early burns (£12,000 per annum for three to five years).
Direction signs (Funding for one year has been obtained and requires £500 a year for five years).
Four wheel trailer (Funding for this project has already been obtained).
Wattled crane research (£17,400 in 2011, £12,000 in each of 2012 and 2013).
Three forests access (£2,600 per annum for three to five years).
Indigenous tree nursery (Funding for five years for this project has already been obtained).
De-silting Dam One (Funding for five years for this project has already been obtained).
Women's co-operative maize mill (Funding for this project has already been obtained).
Housing for permanent staff (This project has been one quarter funded - £33,000 required).
Trust Manager's cabin upgrade (£1,000).
Hewe Channel maintenance and Lake Kazuni barrier (This project has been funded for one year).
"Nyika-Vwaza News" sponsorhip (£2,000 per annum).
Annual Royal Geographical Society Evening Lecture sponsorship (£3,000 for 2011).
